Rural Health Research Opportunities

October 1 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Many trainee interns will have had to reconsider their elective plans for 2020/21 because of pandemic travel restrictions. You may be interested in an elective working on a rural health research project as an alternative. We have a number of possibilities that build on existing projects and some of the options can be combined with rural clinical work.

Join us for an evening with Drs Kati Blattner, Rory Miller and Garry Nixon to find out about some of the amazing rural health research opportunities happening around the country at the moment:

  • ‘Going Virtual’: exploring the effects of a rapid switch in teaching platforms during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic.
  • What is ‘rural’ in health?
  • Unnecessary movement? Examining transfers from Thames, Ashburton, Dunstan and Rawene Hospitals in 2019

You can read about these projects here and attend the free live session via the  SoRHA Facebook page.  If you “like” the post about this event on the Facebook page you will be notified when the session becomes live and you can post your questions via the comments section.  The comments will be relayed to the panel to answer int he live session.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
